This drawing is #2 in a collection of three drawings based on my ceramic sculpture work ‘Ugh, time to get up’. The work is created with soft pastel and colour pencil on handmade cotton rag paper, with dimensions of 15.5cm x 10.3cm. It is ready for framing and ideally would work best mounted in a frame where the raw edges of the paper can be seen as they are an integral part of the meaning of the work.

Re-envisioning sculpture works in the 2D gives me an opportunity as an artist to explore other dimensions of artworks that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to in the original medium of clay. The softness of these drawings, within the elements of line, shape and colour on handmade paper, invites sincerity and intimacy between the work and you, the viewer.
